“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.~Jeremiah 29:11
We go about every day, going to work and planning our lives out for as far ahead as we can foreshadow. We start planning since we are young. We go to school, where teachers and others tell us that we need to make a plan for our lives, so we can make a path for ourselves in this world. We then go to college in order to pave that path. In this world, it’s all about us. The most said words are me and I. I want to. It’s my plan.
That sounds so scary to me. Thinking I am in charge of my life, and I am the one who controls everything. We all tend to believe this, and we all fall into this trap. Thankfully, we remember it is God who is in charge. It’s not our plans. It’s not our life. Nothing in this world actually belongs to us, and if it did, it would all go to waste when we die. My life belongs to God. It’s His plan for my life, and I find it so comforting that we have a God who cares for us and has the ultimate perfect plan for our lives.
